Kpone IPP Thermal Power Plant (GH)

Ghana Group Five / Energas (ZA) 2016

November 2016

The gas and steam combined cycle power plant – gas and oil fired – in Kpone, Ghana, is designed for 340 MW. It will be the largest independent power plant in Africa. Gas is supplied by the nearby West African Gas Pipeline. Unique to this power station is the cooling by sea water.

In November 2017, Thielmann Energietechnik successfully supplies two water bath heaters and two horizontal dust separators to the long-term partner and plant builder Energas.
Commissioning of the power plant is planned for 2017.
