General information
The DP 900 differential pressure gauge is used to monitor the differential pressure of filter systems, measuring systems, valves, coolers, heat exchangers, in the petrochemical industry and in gas and air systems. The DP 900 is preferably used for air and gas systems.

It has a robust, compact aluminum design and is overpressure resistant up to 350 bar.
Function
The differential pressure measurement value is determined via the path of a freely moving piston, which is supported against the range spring.

The magnetic piston measuring mechanism is mounted in a fixed housing. The piston travel is transmitted to the scale magnetically. A magnet attached to the pointer system follows a magnet integrated in the piston. Each position of the piston is assigned a specific pointer value. This movement transmission guarantees absolute separation of measured value and display. This prevents leakage to the outside.

A slave pointer is used to monitor and control the maximum differential pressure that has occurred. All devices are equipped with a double scale.

Differential pressure gauge

Medium

Differential pressure gauges are not only used for monitoring gaseous media, but are also suitable for monitoring liquid material flows in industrial processes. They detect even the smallest pressure differences and thus enable reliable monitoring of operating fluids, solvents, hydraulic oils, lubricants or cryogenic media such as LNG.

Typical applications can be found in the chemical and petrochemical industries, food processing, water treatment and in energy and process engineering. Thanks to their compact design, the devices can be easily integrated into existing systems, require little maintenance and offer high long-term stability.

Depending on the medium - whether viscous, aggressive or temperature-critical - various designs and materials such as stainless steel, plastic or high-performance materials are available.

The devices are approved for natural gas, town gas, coke oven gas, biogas, hydrogen, nitrogen, air and many other gases on request.

Areas of application

Differential pressure gauges are essential components in numerous industrial applications as they enable precise monitoring of filtration processes. They are used to measure pressure differences and thus check the condition of filter elements - a decisive factor in ensuring process stability, protecting systems and maintaining consistent product quality.

Used in chemical, petrochemical and polymer processing:
Differential pressure gauges perform a central monitoring function in chemical and petrochemical processing plants. They detect pressure losses in pipes and filter units, allowing potential blockages to be detected at an early stage and ensuring that chemical reactions run smoothly.

Applications in the natural gas industry:
When pumping and processing natural gas and LNG, differential pressure gauges are used to check filters in order to identify solid or liquid contaminants in good time. This contributes significantly to process reliability and compliance with legal requirements for the purity of the medium.

Maritime applications and shipbuilding:
On board ships, differential pressure gauges are used in fuel, oil and cooling systems, for example. They enable the early detection of pressure drops that indicate dirty filters, thus contributing to operational safety and machine availability.

Industrial production:
In metalworking, plastics processing and general manufacturing, differential pressure gauges serve as control instruments for filter efficiency in cooling, lubrication and operating fluid systems. Permanent monitoring protects machine components and supports consistent production quality.

Process engineering applications:
In the process industry, differential pressure gauges are used to monitor particle filtration in operating media, gas flows or liquids. The timely detection of increased pressure differences prevents unplanned downtimes and ensures the continuous operation of complex systems.

Special applications:
Differential pressure gauges also provide valuable services in highly demanding areas such as medical technology, semiconductor production or environmental technology. They offer the precision required to operate sensitive processes under controlled conditions.
Thanks to their robust design and the possibility of exact adaptation to a wide range of process parameters, differential pressure gauges make a significant contribution to efficiency, safety and quality in numerous branches of industry.

Industries

Differential pressure gauges are indispensable components in numerous branches of industry such as the chemical industry, petrochemical and polymer plants, the natural gas industry, shipbuilding and maritime systems and industrial manufacturing when it comes to the precise monitoring of filtration processes in gaseous media. They make a decisive contribution to operational safety, process control and efficiency optimization.

In chemical processes as well as in all other industries/sectors, continuous monitoring of filtration performance is essential. Differential pressure gauges enable the early detection of contamination in process gases, ensure consistent product quality and protect sensitive system components from damage.

Materials

Differential pressure gauges are manufactured from a variety of specially selected materials to meet the demanding operating conditions in industry. Factors such as temperature and chemical resistance, mechanical stability and compatibility with process media play a decisive role.

Aluminum alloys such as AlCuMgPb Stg are used for the housing and piston. These offer high mechanical strength combined with low weight and are also corrosion-resistant in anodized versions. Nuts made of brass ensure a secure connection and offer good resistance to many media.

The seals are made of Viton, a high-performance fluoroelastomer that is characterized by excellent chemical resistance and temperature tolerance - ideal for industrial use. The dial and hands are made of aluminum, which ensures good readability and high resistance.

The display housing is made of PPH (polypropylene homopolymer), a robust and chemical-resistant plastic. The viewing window is made of acrylic glass and enables a clear, distortion-free display of the measured value.

In terms of standard conformity, the device is operated as simple electrical equipment with ignition protection - a special Ex marking is not required in accordance with DIN EN 60079-11, section 5.7.
